Welcome back
Welcome back to the summer term!
We hope you've had a lovely Easter break and are refreshed and ready for school.
This term the A level students will be completing their exam on the 25th and 26th of April.
All coursework for GCSE and A level students should be handed in on the 1st May.
Y9 GCSE will complete their second project and start a mock art exam (good luck)
Year 12 students will be going to London for insipration for their unit 3 project.
Key stage three students will be completing their personal projects and beginning a 2d relief project and some will be going to visit local people with our community arts project.
Lots of excting and creative things going on this term.
Let's keep up the good work!

These skillful line drawings get all of the character across. We also like the use of colour as every colour has a meaning.

One of the artists being studied by key stage 3 is Chuck Close. We are amazed by the detail and precision needed to produce work like this.

Photoshop Final Outcomes Key stage 3

Assemblage final outcomes
Key stage 3 have made some wonderful assemblage boxes based on identity. They have been put up around the art rooms but we've added some to our blog so that you can see them in detail

Printmaking key stage 3

Thank you to our visiting artist who demonstrated some clay techniques and supported the Year 11's in producing some stunning clay pieces.
Year 11's Start thinking about how you could develop these ideas further and create a final outcome.

A Level Homework
Whilst you're all off on study leave (and have exams) we'd like to make sure you're all ready to hand in unit 1 on February 1st.
By now you should have:-
AO1 - Artist
You should have a minimum of three. Copy their work to learn how they do it AND then try it using your own images
AO3 - Recording
This can be done in a number of ways.
Draw from real life or secondary sources in pencil, charcoal, chalk, pastel pencil, inktense, fine liner, Biro, watercolour, acrylic, gouache...any media you can think of.
Don't forget to take your photographs using the correct camera setting, thinking about lighting and in focus!
AO2 - Media and idea testing
Plan at least 4 ideas you could do based on your recording and your artist.

Calling all year 11 students...
We have an amazing opportunity to work with a clay artist on Monday evenings every Monday this term.
You will be looking at sea life as part of your natural forms unit 1 work and producing a test pieces and a final 3D clay piece based on your ideas.
